Perforated single-compartment ducts with triple function for air treatment and smoke extraction

1

Inductive Technology

HVAC air treatment with inductive technology.

2

Absence of Return Ducts

Advantageous technology using no return ducts but instead, utilizes nozzles placed at the top of the duct for smoke extraction and air intake.

3

Smoke Extraction

In case of fire, hot smoke is extracted from the same ducts through special nozzles located at the top.

HVAC

Micro-holes in HVAC mode

The innovative MICROFIRE system combines the function of air intake and exhaust in HVAC mode with hot smoke extraction in SEFFC mode during a fire, utilizing induction technology for treating ambient air and recirculating it through the same channel.

The high inductive effect, generated by the turbulence of the air exiting the perforations, triggers a strong air draw in the immediate vicinity of the duct (induction ratio from 10 to 30). This results in a very rapid stabilization of the entire treated volume.

The use of MicroFire diffusers allows significant savings in both energy consumption and the cost of the systems themselves, in the context of heating and air conditioning, thanks to the following characteristics:

  • Strong mixing and extreme temperature homogeneity, both longitudinally and vertically, thus maintaining very low levels of stratification
  • Reduction of system stabilization times
  • Useful static pressure required always less than 300 Pa.
  • Reduction of air flow in systems compared to traditional systems with the same thermal potential
  • Greater simplicity and speed of installation, resulting in savings on labor costs
  • Absence of condensation formation risk

Usable for both Heat and Cold, it does not require insulation and does not stratify ambient air.

The ducts, installable in plain view thanks to their modern design, are connected to each other with special joint collars devoid of flanges and bolts, making the aesthetics more pleasant and allowing for optimization of ceiling space to the benefit of installation costs.

Operation in Smoke Extraction Mode

In case of fire in the premises, the HVAC system is stopped. The bypass shutters connected to the extractor dedicated to smoke extraction in case of fire are opened. The extractor is activated, and hot smoke is extracted from the MICRO FIRE ducts.

System Sizing

Through a dedicated calculation software, it is possible to visualize the air diffusion in the treated room, to check the dew point, to identify the diameters and geometries of the suitable perforations to verify all the design comfort requirements, in compliance with UNI10339. The graphs produced allow for a detailed analysis of both the penetration of the treated air into the ambient volume and the isometric velocity lines. Air diffusion in the environment is more homogeneous compared to traditional systems with diffusers or nozzles. Furthermore, by drastically reducing stratification, system stabilization and maintenance times are reduced.
